LSM is seeking passionate, qualified, and forward-thinking individuals to serve on our Board of Directors and help shape the future of our organization.
 

As LSM continues to grow across multiple programs and educational initiatives, we are looking for leaders who believe in the power of the marching arts and are ready to contribute their expertise, perspective, and passion to the continued success of our organization.

Our programs have impacted countless students and performers through educational excellence, leadership development, and life-changing experiences. Board members play a critical role in helping ensure those opportunities continue for future generations.

Qualifications & Expectations

What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Passionate about music education, youth development, and the performing arts

  • Collaborative, professional, and community-minded

  • Willing to actively contribute to organizational growth and long-term planning

  • Interested in supporting a healthy, sustainable culture within LSM

Experience in any of the following areas is especially valuable:

  • Nonprofit leadership

  • Finance/accounting

  • Fundraising and sponsorship

  • Grant writing

  • Marketing and media

  • Legal/compliance

  • Education

  • Event management

  • Human resources

  • Community partnerships

  • Strategic planning

Prior marching arts experience is welcome, but not required.

Responsibilities of Board Members

Members of the LSM Board of Directors are expected to act in the best interests of the organization as a whole and support the mission and vision of LSM Performing Arts Inc.
 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with long-term strategic planning

  • Supporting fundraising and development efforts

  • Reviewing and approving organizational policies and budgets

  • Serving on committees and special projects

  • Advocating for LSM within the community

  • Helping ensure organizational accountability and sustainability

  • Supporting a positive and professional organizational culture

Commitment Expectations

Board members should expect to:

  • Attend regular board meetings

  • Participate in committee work and organizational initiatives

  • Serve as ambassadors for the organization

  • Support major events and fundraising activities
